Brisket-Stuffed Olives (16 fl oz)
Brisket-Stuffed Olives (16 fl oz)
The most Texan cocktail olives ever. Holy smokes — how come no one has done this before? As soon as we thought of it we were on a mission. Months of tasting various olives, driving all over the Texas Hill Country and sampling barbecue to see which ones worked better than others with olives and cocktails, and then going back to our own smoked brisket recipe and technique — all this culminated in a garnish holding a special place in our heart. These olives are a true labor of love.

Gingerbread Flip
Ingredients
1 egg
2 oz bourbon
2 tbsp Winter Holiday Simple Syrup #1 — Gingerbread
Nutmeg
Ice
Coupe glass, or a Nick & Nora glass
Preparation
Add ice to glass, top with water. Set aside to chill.
Add egg and Winter Holiday Syrup #1 — Gingerbread to shaker.
Shake for up to one minute.
Add bourbon and fill shaker to the top with ice.
Shake again for one minute.
Empty glass of ice and water.
Strain cocktail into glass. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Tip: To help emulsify the egg and alcohol, add a small spring (say, taken from a Hawthorne strainer) to the shaker tins. The extra noise is a small price to pay for foamy, creamy results.
